About Dan de Carteret
Dan picked up his first guitar at the age of 12, thanks to a lunchtime guitar club, and quickly found himself playing everyday. He eventually moved to the advanced classes, and started receiving private lessons in his spare time.
Several years later Dan completed his GCSE and A- Level music amongst many other musical qualifications. During this time he was writing his own songs and pieces and taking steps to try and land himself a composition based role in the music industry. Before long Dan had reached out to hundreds of independent filmmakers and game publishers. He landed himself the opportunity to write a song for a short shark conservationist film which convinced him to continue with a music career.
Dan is a versatile musician and is comfortable teaching all genres from pop and metal to much softer acoustic and fingerstyle playing. He takes particular inspiration from the likes of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert.
